Spirit Week

At my school, once a year we have "Spirit Week." All of the classes compete to win Spirit Week and a day off school! Unfortunately, the freshman didn't do so well... There are activities that all of the classes compete in such as a can food drive, pop tabs, tug-o-war, spirit walk, etc. It is the funnest week of the year. Our teachers don't give us that much homework, so that is really nice. The whole week the school is going completely crazy! All of the classes are cheering for their year and things get pretty intense!!

All of us were hoping for a freshman win... but we did not win one of the activities, so I am pretty sure that that's out of the question. The juniors and seniors are pretty close, but I think that the seniors will pull it out and win.

Spring Break is Over :(

I really don't feel like getting up tomorrow and going back to school! It has been a nice break though, and I guess that I have to go back at some point...

I had a great spring break! My family all went skiing and that was really fun (other than the time when my little brother and I collided on the mountain)! The mountains were absolutely beautiful. I really like skiing in the spring because it is not as cold as it is in the winter. Sometimes when we go in the spring, the snow is not very good, but it snowed 3 of the 4 nights we were there. They were saying that it was the best year end conditions that they had ever had. Unfortunitly, I got extreamly sun burnt on the mountain! My face was hurting for days!

Also we went in to Las Vegas for 3 nights. It was so cool. I was not sure what to expect but it ended up being really neat. There were a surprising amount of families there! We went to the show called "Blue Man Group" and it was awesome! It was unlike anything I have ever been too. It is really hard to explain it... They play a lot of percussion. Another night we went to Mystere Cirque de Soleil. It was absolutly amazing! They were doing all kinds things: from swinging from the ceiling to doing flips on stage. I couldn't believe all of the things they could do! Overall it was a great spring break!

But... now it is back to school...

One More Day!

I am so excited that it is almost Spring Break! One more day and we are done for 10 days! I can not wait to be off school for a little while. My family and I are going skiing so it should be really fun.

All of my teachers are trying to end all of our units before the break, so I had 2 tests today and I have 2 tests tomorrow. While I am trying to get through all of the studying I just keep telling myself their is only one more day left!

In Health right now, we are actually doing something pretty cool... We are all getting certified in CPR. It is actually really interesting. I hope that I never actually have to do any CPR, Rescue Breathing, or Choking, but it is good to know it just in case.

In English right now we are finishing Romeo and Juliet. The Shakespearean stuff is really hard to read! I am so glad that we got the books with the "Modern Text" on the other side, because without that I think that I would not understand the book at all. We have a test on this tomorrow, and I am kind of worried because it sounds like it is going to be really hard...

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter!!

Our Crazy Schedule!

Today I had two quizzes... Geometry and Biology. The Biology quiz was not too bad. There were a few hard questions, but for the most part it was pretty easy. The Geometry quiz on the other hand was a little more challenging. Actually, it was not that bad, but we did not really have enough time to finish. I think that 2 people in my whole class finished! I had to leave two of the answers blank... She said that because we did not have enough time that she would make "adjustments" so I hope that she makes it out of less points or something.

I think that I have mentioned how our schedules are kind of weird at my school. We have 18 mods that are about 20 minutes each plus 3 minutes for passing time. Throughout the day we have what we call "free" mods. During those frees you can eat lunch, sit in the cafe, hang out with friends, do your homework, etc. We have a 6 day rotation, and today was my worst day. Usually, people eat lunch at mod 9 or 10. I have one of those free everyday except B day. Today was B day. It is so weird because I am not free until mod 15 you have to eat during your class. It is a little weird and awkward, but when you are really hungry there is no other choice. It is a really long day because I have strait classes from 7:55 in the morning until 1:31!!

Although I don't enjoy B day... I love our schedule. It allows us to have so much freedom. It is such a nice break from all of the stressful classes. Also, it gives you something to look forward to after class!
