Making It Count

End of the Third Quarter!

I can't believe that the year is almost 3/4 of the way done. That is crazy! It seems like school just started.

The end of the third quarter brings a lot of school projects... which is not very exciting. I have a big Biology Project and Geometry Project due next week! Also, this past week has been loaded with all kinds of tests and quizzes in all of my subjects. Luckily for me though, I am in 2 sophomore classes and they have the Graduation Test all next week. This is lucky for me because we will hardly have class and we can't move forward without the sophomores. So, some days we still have to go to class and other days they are just calling off our class. Hopefully, that will lower the amount of work that will be due next week!

It never ends...

This weekend I had 3 soccer games out side and one indoor game... In the outdoor games my team went 1-0-2 which may not sound great, but all of the teams that we played were suppose to be a lot better than us, so it was pretty exciting! Our team did not play so well in the indoor game though, but after all that soccer we were all completely worn out.

Lately I have had a lot of soccer, and that has been kind of hard to manage everything. I get home start my homework, go to soccer, finish my homework, go to bed... Sometimes it feels like a ton, but in the end if it will help me become a better soccer player it is all worth it.

I had a bunch of tests and quizzes this week... Geometry, 3 Spanish Tests (listening, speaking, written), Biology, and Health.

I am really excited for the weekend because my mom and I are going to visit my cousin for her 16th birthday. I think that will be a really nice break from all of the stress.

There is nothing too exciting happening in my life right now... school. soccer. sleep.

I have had a lot of test lately in school. I had one today, one Thursday, and 3 on Friday.

I also have had a ton of soccer lately. I had 5 games this weekend and I haven't had a day off in 6 days. This weekend we start to play outside... it is still kind of cold here so we will see how that goes!

Right now I am one of the "layout people" on the newspaper at my school. This week or next week they are going to be deciding who will become the Layout Editor next year for the whole newspaper, and I am really hoping that I will get picked! It may sound dorky... but it is actually pretty cool to do the layout. It is kind of like a puzzle, and I am really into graphic design sort of things.

Other than all the tests school is pretty good, but it is hard balancing between school soccer and just being able to have some chill time to hang out with friends or relax. I am still in the process of picking my classes for next year. I think that I have it just about all figured out though!

Superior Soccer

This weekend has been pretty crazy so far...
I had 4 soccer games yesterday! Also, my brother had 3 soccer games and a basketball game. I wasn't home for a least 11 hours yesterday. By the time I got home I was so tired!!

There is nothing really exciting going on right now. I have two tests on Tuesday (Health and English)... I have another soccer game tonight... Also, tomorrow since we don't have school, me and three other girls are going to the mall to work on our project. We are actual going to interview people on what they think of jealousy. That is our topic for our poem project. I think that it will be really fun, and hopefully we will get a good grade!

Manic Monday

I have never really liked Mondays... It means it is time to go back to school, time to wake up at 6... But it is even worse when you have 2 tests on Monday!

I feel like I have had to study all day! Now that we are a couple of weeks into the semester it means that we are finishing units in almost all of our classes which means that we have tests and quizzes in all of those classes. This semester I have Health too, so that is one more test that I have to take. Although health may sound like it is easy, it is actually pretty hard!

Because of all of the snow days we are almost two weeks behind schedule in our classes. That means that we get more homework, so that has been a little overwhelming. We also have to add two days to our schedule to meet all of the state requirements.

Other than that there is really nothing new...

Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow!

Last week we ended up having Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday off! Not only did we have all of those days off, we also had Wednesday off this week! Unfortunately, I think that we are over the snow day limit by a couple a days... we will probably have to make up days in the summer

I am starting to get a lot of quizzes and tests now. I have two tomorrow and I also have two on Monday. I am really excited though, because my school selected some people to come listen to all of the opportunities that my school has avalible in the Science field. I think that it will be a great opportunity to see what is ahead of me in the next couple years and they will also be talking about careers in science.

Today at school, we had about an hour and a half to go around to some of the elective class rooms and learn more about the courses that we can take next year. It was very interesting to hear all of the teacher talk about the classes. The thing that was probably most helpful was going to the Spanish III Honors teacher. I am not in Spanish II honors right now, but was recommended for Spanish III Honors. I am afraid that the jump will be difficult, but I talked to the teacher and she said that she thought that we would be fine.

Snow Day x3!!

Today was our 3rd snow day in a row! It is crazy because we almost never have BIG snow and ice storms. We have about 6-7 inches of snow which is a pretty big deal here! It has been really nice to have the days off though... I thought that we would have to go back to school for sure today, but it is really nice to wake up and find out that you have no school!

I got my semester report card and I was super excited! I got all A's and all A's on my exam... so I can't ask for anything better than that! I was really excited because of all of the work that I have put in this semester and being able to have such awesome results. There are a lot of things that I learned from taking exams for the first time. I picked a lot of little things that I can do to make studying easier next time around. I am putting all of my Health and English vocabulary on note cards as soon as I get them... let's just say that making 180 English vocabulary cards wasn't the highlight of my studying :)

It is starting to snow again right now so I am hoping that we may get at least a delay...

Father Daughter Dance!!

First of all, I got back all of my exams!! I was so happy with my results. I actually ended up with all A's on them so that was really exciting.

Yesterday night was the Father Daughter Dance at my school. It sounds like it would not be fun... but it was a BLAST! I went out to dinner with some of my friends and their dads. When we got to the dance, it was packed. There were so many people that came. The band was pretty good too. It was a lot of oldies songs but they were still good! It was soooo funny to watch all of the dads dance. They were pretty much out there dancing the whole time. We got home really late and my friend slept over so I was exhausted today, but the dance was awesome, so it was worth it!

Our report cards are coming out pretty soon, so I am really excited to see all of my grades. Part of me can't believe that is has already been one semester, but the other half of me feels like school should be out for the summer! One of the things that I really like about my school is that we have classes with different people everyday. Its really confusing at first because you may have English at the beginning of one day and at the end of the day the next day... I know it is really confusing... also I may have a English with you today and then I will have it with totally different people the next day! Anyway, at the beginning of the semester you get to see which friends are in what class on what day. In a way, it feels like the beginning of school all over again. Also, I don't have tech anymore, now I have health class. Once you get past the confusing part, our schedules are AMAZING!

Free At Last!

I finished my exams!! I was so happy when the last final was over... I have never been so happy to finish a test in my entire life!

Anyway, Exams actually went pretty well... I hope. I am not going to lie, I was completely stressed out before they started. As a freshman, I had absolutely no idea what to expect when I stepped into my exam room on Tuesday. I would have had hated to been around me this last week, I must have been a serious mess :) But I am thinking that all of the studying paid off, because when I was actually taking the tests they weren't really all that hard. Actually, they were surprisingly easy compared to what I was imagining.  I guess we'll just have to see how the results are...

This weekend, a lot of my family is in town so that will be pretty fun! My aunt is having a birthday party so it is nice to see everyone. Plus, all of the girls got to go out to lunch and get our nails done which is never a bad thing!

I also had a soccer game at 7 in the morning today. You can imagine how excited I was to get out of bed at 6 on a Saturday morning! But don't feel too bad, because when I got home I just got right back into bed and watched a movie.

Studying, studying, and more studying...

Well, this weekend has been pretty fun... all I have pretty much been doing is studying for exams. I feel like I have been studying for forever but there is always one more thing that I need to study! I can't wait for them to just be over... at this point, I am actually kind of looking forward to just actually taking the tests. I think that once I take them it will just be a huge weight off of my shoulders.

Also, I am looking forward to having a half day on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Because I don't have any overlapping exams, I don't have to go to school on Friday so at least I get a 4 day weekend after all of that hard work. (Presidents Day is the next Monday)

Other than studying... I have just had a couple soccer commitments, but that's really all.  Nothing really too exciting. I am looking forward to next week when I have some family coming into town and I can go hang out with my friends instead of study.

But for now, I need to get back to my studying!
