Disability

Disability, this is one of the topics that I did not think I would not be considering for many years. But here I am talking to you about it. Obviously dad is not able to work and earn the normal pay that he has been regularly receiving. Luckily or thoughtfully, he enrolled in short-term and long-term disability insurance. Our family will be able to survive with these payments. My mother is also researching Social Security disability benefits. Every policy has deadlines and specific timeline requirements. Hospital personnel were instrumental with getting all the ducks in a row so that we will not be greatly impacted by the lack of finances. We do not wish to depend on these payments. We are praying for a full recovery, and that he will return to a normal daily life.

As I mentioned before, I am essentially on my own with a full time job now. I feel I can support myself for the remainder of my college career if need be. My parents have not mentioned the “cut off” phrase recently, but during the enrollment process three years ago they promised to support me until graduation. Right now we are just taking it one day at a time.
