The Party

Last night's party was awesome. I was a little worried at first because it ended up being a birthday party and I was instructed to play whatever the birthday girl wanted. She had given me a playlist of songs that I would have to play throughout the night and this was definitely something that I wasn't used to. Luckily, after I explained to her exactly how I go about mixing for a party, she agreed to let me stray from the list and do my own thing. Of course if she had a request I still had to play it because that's just the way things go, but at least I didn't have to play her stuff all night which was a definite relief.

By around midnight there was a pretty big crowd (around 100/200 people) and I was in the zone. Unfortunately due to the birthday girl's constant interruptions I wasn't able to work the crowd exactly like I was used to but it still turned out ok.

Afterwards the frat's social director came up to me and basically offered me a residency which I happily accepted. So now hopefully these parties will be much more frequent.

That being said, now it's time to to hunker down and get ready for the 2 midterms and paper on Tuesday that I had forgotten about until today due to my poor scheduling skills.
