I’m Going Going, Back Back…

After about 9 hours of total travel time (1.5 hour flight, then a 3 hour layover, and finally a 4.5 hour flight) I'm at my aunt's house in California. Surprisingly, the trip wasn't that bad. I had brought a couple of DVDs to watch in the airport and my last plane had LCD screens in the back of the seats that you could order movies on. In light of this, I guess you could say that the day just flew by (pun intended). When I landed I went to baggage claim to pick up my bags and went outside where my aunt was waiting for me with the car. When we got to the house I unpacked my stuff and went straight to bed.

This morning we went to church and afterwards we went out to eat. I think that it would be appropriate to note that the weather here is definitely nicer than at home (no humidity). However, I can't say that I'm jealous of the gas prices ($4.45 a gallon for regular). I still find it weird that everyone accepts this as normal. At least as normal as $4.45 a gallon can be.

I was supposed to start working today but we got our wires crossed so instead, I took a really nice midday nap and now we're about to watch the Lakers game and eat pizza.

Go Lakers!

Do Work!

So apparently I'm going to California on Saturday to do some work for my aunt's clients (she does billing for doctors). Last Christmas I fixed her home network and now she wants me to work on her clients' networks. That's fine with me because it means that I'm going to get paid. And I absolutely love getting paid. Also, she's paying for my plane ticket over here as well which is a really good deal for me. I've had my eye on a new mixer for a while and hopefully I can make enough to buy it. I'm not sure exactly what I'm going to be doing and why it's going to take 2 weeks but whatever it is I'm sure that I can handle it.

When I get back I think that I'm going to start working with my dad at his law practice (I'm going to be doing a technology overhaul because otherwise he'll stay stuck in the 20th century. He's also going to be taking me to court with him so that I can see what it's like). It should be fun.
