So classes are just starting to have the first tests and papers of the semester and I am definitely feeling the pressure. I have been really busy lately with school work and just various other things and someone asked me the other day why I am so busy all the time. That really got me to thinking. I really enjoy being busy. It's weird i know, but I think I am one of those people that strives under pressure. I don't like to have too much free time because I don't know what to do with myself. Whether I am busy with school or even social things, I just enjoy having things to do. Some people find that hard to understand but that's just my own thing I suppose.
Next week is going to be quite packed as well, but not as bad as this week. We'll see..

Now is the time to start applying for honor societies and awards and such at my school. All of this on top of the massive amount of school work that I have to do, of course. I have been working on some applications and I'm going to try to get those finished as soon as possible. The good thing, though, is that the applications are very simple, it just takes a while to put the details on paper. Also there aren't that many that are available to Freshmen so that narrows it down a lot but makes it more competitive. Wish me luck!

I am still trying to figure out this second semester thing. I have a lot of work in my classes so I've been spending a lot of time studying and I've been going to the gym and I've still been hanging out with my friends but it's just a different dynamic. It's hard to understand. It's like everyone is waiting for something that is coming but no one knows what it is. It doesn't help that it's winter so the days are pretty dreary and cold. I think everyone is just ready for the spring time. Warm weather and sunshine and spring break and exciting times for everyone! Oh well, it's something to look forward to...

I experienced the Student Health Center for the first time this week. I was awoken by the fire alarm much earlier than I had planned on waking up and then I realized that I had broken out in hives! I have no idea why but I had some sort of allergic reaction to something! So I made the trek to the Health Center. I was a little disappointed because the doctor just told me to take an over the counter antihistamine and a cold shower but I was expecting something more dramatic than that. I am getting better though so I guess they know what they are talking about over there!

Ok I'm not going to lie, I have joined the multitudes of people who made "getting in shape" their New Year's Resolution. And I mean multitudes. My school has a really good gym and I was going to go to one of the classes with my friends and it was PACKED! The whole gym was! Everyone is on the band wagon and I think that's great...but then where do I work out? When we couldn't take the class we just decided to go back to one of my other friend's apartment's and do this really intense work out video that has guaranteed results (ha). It was an incredible workout. So incredible that I could barely move for a week because I was so sore. I am no longer sore at the moment so I think we are going to try it again. No pain no gain, right? A lot of people (myself included) have just been walking around campus becasue we have had really pretty weather lately and for me, it really makes me realize just how much I love this school. We have a beautiful campus and that is my favorite way to work out becasue it gets me motivated. That and everyone's talk of spring break plans...oh dear.

So I really think that this semester is going to be good. I was looking through my schedules for tests and such that all of my professors have given me and it's going to be a lot more work though. Of course, the days that I have huge papers in my English class are the same days that I have an Econ test and then I have a math test later that week...and then I'll have a week with nothing to do! I hate how that always happens. But I suppose this is a good test in planning ahead and not procrastinating.
Also this semester (beginning NOW) are applications for honor societies and awards as well as different societies for next year. I am working on a few of them at the moment and thankfully I haven't gotten too deep into my classes so I can devote a good amount of time to those. I'm all about getting involved on campus so I'm really looking forward to these (I know, I'm a dork).
I'll let you all know how it goes!

Classes have begun again. Honestly, I was nervous about what all I am taking this semester. I'm taking Honors Economics, Honors Judicial Procedure, Math, and two Liberal Arts classes. I have been to all of them this week and I'm really excited about them! They are going to be a lot of work probably but I think they are going to be really interesting. I can't really tell how the rest of this semester is going to pan out but I think its going to be good :)

I had an absolutely WONDERFUL winter break but it it so nice to be back at school! Seeing all of my college friends and just hanging out on campus is great. It's so weird that this has become my normal life now. I actually caught myself saying that I was going "home" to college...which my parents took offense to I think (haha!). I don't know, it is my life now and for the next three years and it is nice to be in a daily routine. And I never thought I would say it, but I missed going to class. I think that college is just so different and I liked all of my classes last semester (and am looking forward to my classes this semester) so it's really not a dreaded thing like it was in high school. I also love my roommate so I was looking forward to coming back to see her too! I am looking forward to the rest of the semester but I don't want Freshman year to end!
