Balancing Act

Being in college requires balancing a lot of things and some major multi-tasking. For example, as I am writing this I am waiting on my laundry to finish and eating lunch. I have to balance massive amounts of school work with extracurricular activities with a social life with regular hygiene. It can get really difficult sometimes. I LOVE to be involved on campus--I was really involved in high school and I just like to be busy with important things to do. People always talk about being able to say "no" though. I just don't know at what point I would have TOO much to do. Am I there? Am I past that point? I have a meeting almost every night, hours of homework, and plenty of friends. And I am still applying for organizations and I'm running for a Student Government Senate seat. Am I overbooked? How will I know??
These are just some things that I've been thinking about lately. I guess I'll figure it out soon! I hope...

Emma, I also love keeping myself busy :D
That's one of the things I love about college. There's just SO MUCH to do! I literally have to turn down awesome things because I'm doing something else at the same time. Sigh...
Interestingly enough, I was more of a nerdy stay-at-home type back in high school. I guess college really gave me the chance to do hobbies I really enjoy.
So much fun stuff. So little time.

It's definitely a trade-off, but I've found distance learning to help open up a TON of extra time for me!
I'm studying as a graduate student with American Sentinel University (http://www.americansentinel.edu) and I've got far more free time that I ever used to have in my undergrad days- simply because I can arrange courses around my schedule!
There are definitely some trade-offs to online vs. campus based learning, but for me, it's been more than worth it!
Just something to think about...
